Hollow Lantern
★★★★★ 4.6
Hollow Lantern is slow in the best way. You explore a foggy island and its lighthouse one tapped room at a time, piecing together what happened here through notes, objects, and the odd puzzle. It's atmospheric without being scary.
The puzzles are logical rather than obtuse — no pixel-hunting for a hidden key three screens back. When I got stuck, the solution was usually something I'd already seen and forgotten, which is the right kind of stuck.
It's a short game, maybe three hours, but it lingers. I finished it in two evenings and still think about the ending.
